Ten checks, 15 minutes: can your reports be relied on?
- Do two reports ever show different figures for the same measure?
- Is every key measure written down with one agreed definition?
- Do refreshes complete reliably, with alerts when they fail?
- Can you trace a headline number back to its source?
- Are manual Excel steps needed before reports are published?
- Do reports load in a few seconds?
- Is access controlled so people see only what they should?
- Do managers export to Excel to double-check?
- Are known data gaps shown on the report?
- Would you trust Copilot or another AI tool to answer from this data?
How to score it
Three or more answers of “no” or “not sure”? Your reporting likely has trust issues worth fixing before you scale it or add AI.
